More than $5000 Raised; Best decorated!

​The Relay for Life of Marlborough Hudson team from St. Stephen Lutheran Church raised more than $5,000 to fight cancer, took the prize for Best Decorated Site with their Hawaiian-themed Tiki stand selling pineapple chicken and fruit cups, and expanded their original five-member team to a lucky thirteen to walk the track at Ward Park in Marlborough this past weekend.
St. Stephen also provided the keynote speaker, the Rev. Joseph Graumann Jr, a cancer survivor who talked about his own journey and noted how far cancer research and treatment has come since his grandfather's day. The team's fund-raising up to and including the Friday night into Saturday morning walk, put them in second place out of 26 teams, according to the Relay for Life of Marlborough Hudson website. Friends and family of team members were also on hand to walk the track and participate in the ticket auction of donated baskets, including the St. Stephen offering, with a wine motif, ranging from wine bags, napkins, towels and accessories, to the wine itself.
Team members included Dave and Martha Domke, George and Melanie Whapham, and Pastor Graumann, all of Marlborough; and Hudson residents Dianne Bruno, Harold and Liz Greer, the Gogan family, Abby, Sam and Sarah Maston, and Ann Weston.
